Hello friends! Want to know how to make one of those cute fall banners you see all around the web? It’s surprisingly easy. With some scrap fabric, Modge Podge, twine from the garage and a package of leaves from Dollar Tree, I made this…
The triangles are made from fabric cut about 7″ long & wide. I used that handy-dandy triangle thingy that I stole from my husband’s desk and marked out my triangles on card stock to create a template. Then, I traced onto my fabric.
I cut them out and ended up with four fabric triangles…
Next, I printed out my letters on card stock using Cooper font at about 72pt. Then, I cut out my letters to use as a template for my fabric letters.
I traced my “template” letters onto my floral fabric and cut out the letters.
Then, I folded over the top of the triangle to form a “pocket” to thread the twin thru later. After ironing the fold, I did a quick whip stitch to keep it in place.
You will need to cut off the little flap that sticks out on either side…
Next comes the Mod Podge! Just use a thin layer on your triangle, then place your letter over it and put a layer of mod podge over it and let it dry.
Cut some twine to the desired length and loop thru the bottom of a safety pin. Thread safety pin/twine thru the triangle pockets.
Last, I secured my banner to my mantle with thumb tacks and then added my leaves that I “adorned” with strips of the floral fabric.
