I’m always amazed how just a little paint can make such a dramatic change. Whether it’s on a big scale or small one, painting it always seems to make just the change I’m looking for. Recently, I’ve been all about the chalk paint (see my chalk paint console here) and I’m planning on making some of my own chalk paint soon! But, whatever method you choose, be it oil, latex or spray paint. Painting it can make all the difference.
This old lamp was a Home Depot purchase from 10 years ago. I have never really liked it, but it provided the right light and followed me from house to house. I always seemed to find a spot for it. Kinda sad, huh? Look at it in the family room…it’s just bringing everything else down, man! Well, maybe not, but it sure looks like a wall flower at the very least.
It was one of those things that I’ve been wanting to replace for a long time, but never got around to it. While, I was out and about today, I came across a gorgeous lamp shade on clearance. It was love at first sight! We were meant to be together! And, I knew just which lamp to put it on. That is…after I gave my old lamp a couple coats of ASCP in Old White! Now, look at it in the family room…
Loving how the shade looks when the light is on… Try to find my dog in the picture. Hehe!
Painting something that was once dark with white paint can really bring out the detail too..
Beyond thrilled with my clearance lamp shade!
