Happy Day friends! Holidays aside, December is an exciting time of year in the design world because it’s when the Pantone Color of the Year is announced. Pantone chooses a Color of the Year that they feel will define what lies ahead and will best offer what the world needs the most in that year. Instead of just looking at the visual and aesthetic aspects of it, Pantone actually analyzes the psychological side of things and the implications a color has on people and their moods.
That is exactly why Pantone picked Emerald for 2013 as they believe that unlike last year, when they chose Tangerine Tango which signified change and movement, the world needs stability, prosperity and harmony; something that Emerald perfectly epitomizes. the Color of the Year for 2013 is the “lively, radiant, and lush” Emerald 17-5641.
Green is one of my favorite colors and it’s going to be amazing to watch how it’ll affect the year to come.
Personally, I think green is an easier color for people to introduce into their home decor and wardrobe. Green can be sophisticated, yet serene and soothing.
