Well, it’s a new look for our blog and a long awaited new post! We have been playing with chalk paint while we were away and have a few projects to share. Let’s start small…
We picked this little black console table up at a tag sale for $30 bucks a couple of years ago. It is solid wood and has cool vintage handles. It was black and we were fine with that! Until the Kitchen Transformation 2012 (a.k.a. KT2012) happened (to be posted later). Let’s just say we brightened up the place and this little console was bringing the new look down! The jumping off point of KT2012 was a gorgeousssss armoire that we found for the family room. Don’t worry….You’ll get a sneak peek of the armoire!
Annie Sloan chalk paint was just the ticket in transforming this piece! And let’s just say that this is our new FAVORITE paint period! So easy to use and the finishes that you can create are endless!
This paint is so yummy! You don’t even need to use a primer! And I was painting over black, people!
What do you think? We just love it! It totally changes the look of the piece. We did a little distressing and finished it off with clear and dark wax.
Little Kitty decided to make a cameo in the photo shoot.
Here is the redone console in the hall to the family room. Do you see the armoire back there? Wait till you see that sucker! Stay tuned for the KT2012 post and the unveiling of the armoire. You won’t believe what it has hidden inside!
